Friends of Bound for Glory

The Friends of Bound for Glory is a 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to helping WVBR’s Bound for Glory continue as “North America’s longest-running live folk concert broadcast.”

The Friends of Bound for Glory was established to “stimulate, inspire, promote, and foster the creation, dissemination, and performance of acoustic music in the Central New York area. Alone, or in cooperation with other persons or organizations, to sponsor live public performances of acoustic music in the Central New York area, for the enlightenment and enjoyment of area residents. To encourage radio and TV broadcast of such live performances. To establish an ongoing support structure for events related to acoustic music in the Central New York area.”

Contributions to the Friends of Bound for Glory help pay for new microphones, CD machines, turntables, cables, and lots of the other gear that’s essential for North America’s longest-running live radio folk concert.

The Friends of Bound for Glory is also raising money to allow the Cornell Archives to preserve the over 50 years of live concert recordings for posterity. We are working with the Cornell Library Archivist to create a Bound for Glory Archive in the Cornell Library system, accessible to the Cornell community as well as researchers worldwide.

You can donate to the Friends on Bound for Glory on our Donations page.

We are an all-volunteer organization, whose current officers include Jim Harper, President; Mark Anbinder, Secretary; and Carrie Kerr, Treasurer.
